The small market town of Talgarth lies at the foot of the Black Mountains and within the Brecon Beacons National Park, midway between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye.

It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and offers easy access to the Brecon Beacons, The Black Mountains and also to Offa's Dyke.

The area has been settled in for some 5000 years and only a short distance from the town is a long cairn where a small bone flute, the first musical instrument in the British Isles, was found, so it is fitting that its musical history continues to this day with the choir.
